Hamilton-born, Winnipeg-raised, David is an award-winning third generation photographer, specializing in portrait work.
David started his career in the photojournalism industry, where his photographs continue to be published in: The New York Times, USA Today, Macleans, The Globe And Mail, Canadian Geographic, The National Post, Sporting News, Canadian Business, CNN, ABC World News, and many more.
David is currently working as a full-time independent (freelance) commercial photographer based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and is available to travel on assignment. David brings his knowledge of the inner workings of the media machine to help clients create dynamic imagery which tells stories, and are more likely to bring attention and coverage to their narrative.
Over his 15+ years in the photography industry, he has worked with a diverse range of subjects and clients, including photographing everyone from international pop superstars, to regular folks, humanitarians, Prime Ministers, actors, professional athletes, innovating scientists, Presidents and CEOs of billion dollar organizations, as well as people down on their luck living on the streets without a home.
Clients include: The NFL, Mercedes-Benz, Nikon, Bell, Crown Royal, United Way, Wal-Mart, The Bay, Boeing, CFL, and various branches of the Canadian Government. He is also available for private functions upon request.
In addition to commissioned work, David is a firm believer in creating high quality artistic/personal work. He has been recognized for his long term project, 'A Portrait a Day: 2013', in which he produced one portrait of a different individual (usually complete strangers) every single day of the year. The resulting work can viewed here.
David also gives back to the community through working with various charities, and is involved with the annual 'Help Portrait' event, in which he and other volunteer photographers create and donate portraits to those less fortunate. David also donates his time and services through photography for: The Children's Museum, Food Matters Manitoba, Multiple Sclerosis Canada, Special Olympics Manitoba, as well as with CancerCare Manitoba.
When not writing about himself in the third person, or behind the camera, David enjoys spending time with his wife Carole, their two daughters, as well as their Golden Retriever. David also enjoys cycling, cooking, camping, travelling, and going on adventures.
